Anne was the grandmother of our lord Jesus. I don't know about you, but to me it seems that grandmothers always have something special, maybe because they don't have the direct responsibility for the children who are their grandchildren.
It makes it easier to unconditionally love them.
So I trust that Jesus also found a warm and loving heart in his grandmother.
In this day and age she is known as a patron saint for abundance, women who want to become pregnant or women who want to find a husband, and protection for travelers.
Not a lot is known about her from the bible, most of what we know stems from legends. She is said to have been married to Joachim and only at an older age she received her child, Mary, a gift from God. |
